Little Red Caboose: an artist cabin on the land of the former Maverick Art Colony in Woodstock, NY

1938, 320 sq. foot cabin set up as a live/work studio with a separate kitchen and bath. Large front yard with a hand-built, stone fire pit, and a landscaped pine grove with hammocks and swings. Located on a quiet, dead-end dirt road and a 5-minute walk from a stunning open view of fields, a pond, and an unobstructed view of Overlook Mountain.

This petite but personable cabin had seen much better days before Crimson took on its lease in the Fall of 2024. It still had its original casement windows, a unique and cozy built-in window seat, and a small - but charming - eat in kitchen. But it was run down, homely-looking, and the grounds and gardens needed love.

Crimson reimagined the interior with a vintage, midcentury-modern Woodstock/Venice Beach, CA bungalow vibe, and the outdoor yard space and surrounding pine grove as a relaxing chill-zone. Sensory swings, hammocks, and new landscaping made it well-suited for Crimson’s “Summer Soundwaves” event programming of meditation, sound baths, and smart bar lounge events.

This property was used for Crimson Catskills events in 2024 and 2025. Unfortunately, it is not on offer to rent.
