This collaboration between sound healing practitioner Jennifer-Muir Braunstein, and Rosie McCobb, of Crimson Catskills, features a relaxing, intentionally-designed relaxation space, and a one-hour sound bath and guided meditation session starting at 6PM.
This is part of our weekly Thursday night Summer SoundWaves programing. Each week’s program will feature different practitioners, instruments, tones, and pacing - and will often include soothing, recorded, electronic music tracks.
Located just one mile outside of Woodstock Village on a short, dead end road that leads to a spectacular, unobstructed view of Overlook Mountain, participants may arrive anytime from 5:30 onward to take a walk up the street to gaze at the mountain, or to relax in our “chillness” outdoor space. Enjoy the shade and light breezes between the trees in a hammock or sensory swing, or cool off with a blended herbal or seasonal cold beverage from our smart bar. We hope you’ll come and hang for a bit, and help build positive, in-person social connections and community.
Sliding Scale Fee: $20-$25. If you’d like to try our program, and funds are limited, pay what you can. Click below to pre-register and pay online. Cash or Venmo also accepted onsite.

Since this is an outdoor event, it is weather permitting. Please check hourly weather alerts for the day. We will proceed with the program if no rain is forecast between the hours of 2PM and 8PM, day-of program. Any pre-reservations due to weather cancellation will be honored at a future Summer SoundWaves Thursday program.

Summer SoundWaves is a convenient, after-work reset for anyone in need of stress relief. It will appeal to those seeking a relaxing, light-social atmosphere, and those looking to keep up with a deeper, regular meditation and breath work practice. Both beginners and advanced devotees in breath and sound practices are welcome, and our program is suitable for average health and cardiovascular capabilities. This is mainly intended for adults, but parents may bring older children if they are able to be still and not disturb the quiet and meditative program.
Yoga blankets will be provided. Please bring your own mats or any additional pillows you require to lay on the earth for the sound bath. Allergy-sensitive anti-bug torches will be lit, but this is the Catskills, so we can’t guarantee a complete lack of all bugs or outdoor creatures: you just may see a mama bear and her two cubs amble on by in the distance!
Parking is on-street: there are two small “cut out” lots near the lower quarry area that will accommodate a few cars, with a short 2-3 minute walk up to our location. Or, you may park on the side of the road, just past our location (please be mindful of French drains along some parts of the side of the road).
Our grounds are wheelchair accessible; unfortunately our bathroom is not. Please contact directly to discuss anything that will help make it possible for you to enjoy this event.
Meet the Team
Jennifer Muir-Braunstein works with groups and individuals to provide a form of mind, body, and energetic health that all starts with sound. She utilizes the healing vibrations of medical/spa grade Tibetan bowls and other instruments, both directly on and in the space around the body.
Sound vibrations have been medically proven to change brain patterns and the quality of the nervous system, and have been used in controlled practices to “heal” everything from contaminated water, to kidney stones. Jennifer seeks to provide a direct and accessible channel through which the body’s innate healing wisdom can open and thrive.
Jennifer books sessions at Menla retreat and spa center in Phoenicia, NY and through her work with the Sunset Healing Collective in New Paltz, NY. She also offers regular workshops at area wellness studios in a collaboration with Reiki practitioner Cory Smith. It is intended to help those trying to process grief, and for anyone who wants to develop a more accepting, holistic relationship with death. Rosie McCobb grew up in the Northeast, and spent her childhood outdoors making art projects, playing sports, and taking care of horses. She worked as a film and photography director for many years, and specialized in art, interior design, and expressionistic personal work that captured the energy and forms of daily life.
She began meditating in 2018, and reacclimated herself with the work and ideas of Carl Jung, which she studied as a psychology minor in college. From then, onward, Rosie has studied and sampled a wide variety of art therapy, wellness, and spiritual practices intended to rebalance and strengthen brain, body, psychological, and spiritual health. She started Crimson Catskills as a means to provide artistic, holistic, and intentionally curated spaces, experiences, and events.
